Mike Spear, Regional Director,
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for California (retired)
"I enthusiastically support Cynthia's campaign to become
a Director of the Marin Municipal Water District. As Regional
Director, I spent a great deal of my time with my federal and state colleagues
on the efforts to resolve the complex issues of the competing demands
of fish, agriculture, and municipal water users of the Bay/Delta.
Alos involved those negotiations over several years were a dedicated
group of stakeholders representing all users. When it came to speaking
up for the environmental water needs, no one was more dedicated or hard
working than you. You rolled up your sleeves, learned the details,
and kept the environmental issues at the forefront of the debate. I believe
the outcome, the consensus Bay/Delta Plan, speaks well of the effort
of you and your environmental colleagues.
Cynthia has developed great technical, legal, and political knowledge
of California water matters. She will be an asset to the people
of Marin as a Water District Director" |
